Letter to Loreburn’s Customers from Russell Brown, Convener

Dear Tenants,

As we say goodbye to Lorraine, our outgoing Chief Executive, we say hello to Lawrie West, an interim appointment to the role. Lawrie joins us this week and will remain in post until June when we welcome our new Chief Executive, Kirsteen McGinn.

Both Lawrie and Kirsteen bring a wealth of experience to Loreburn and have been appointed for their commitment to our social purpose and values as a housing association and Loreburn’s mission to create great places to live. Kirsteen has held senior roles in the housing sector overseeing property, development and neighbourhood services.

In the meantime, you should not notice any detrimental change to our day-to-day operations and service delivery. Our locally based neighbourhood and repairs teams remain close by when you need them. If you prefer to reach us online, you may have noticed improvements we’ve made to our website and range of online services.

Sadly, the social housing sector has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons more lately. Criticisms include the size and scale of many that have grown or merged. As a small community-based organisation, we remain committed to our values and purpose. This includes our small patch-based neighbourhood teams, meaning we can really get to know our communities, and importantly, you as tenants.

Lorraine leaves behind her legacy and passion for exceptional service delivery, personalised services and delivering on our promises. As I speak on behalf of the Management Committee, we will continue to hold these values dear and to keep this commitment at the heart of all we do at Loreburn.

Yours sincerely,

Russell Brown
