Loreburn Housing Association is celebrating a win at the CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing) Scotland Housing Awards, the country’s annual awards for excellence in housing, as their Community Housing Team West was awarded 'Housing Team of the Year'.

At a gala event held in Glasgow, the awards celebrated the individuals, organisations and projects that have made a difference to tenants, customers and communities across the country over the past year.

The 'Housing team of the Year' award was designed to recognise a team that has delivered an outstanding contribution to their organisation and the housing sector.

Clare Burns, Community Team Manager for the West, said: “We’re super proud, honoured and totally gobsmacked to have been awarded 'Housing Team of the Year' at the annual CIH Scotland Awards.

“The West Community Housing Team always put heart and soul into helping our customers, and I am so pleased that they have been recognised for all their hard work.”

Winning the award was a fantastic acknowledgement of the great work that the Team undertook while dealing with a major fire at a block of flats in Portpatrick earlier this year.

Gary Alison, Deputy CEO, said: “We strive to deliver a personalised service, and I witnessed first-hand our Community Team offering tailored support to each and every one of our affected customers.

“Clare, alongside Neighbourhood Officers Rachael and Paul and the rest of the West Team, have demonstrated their dedication and commitment to delivering excellent services, even through a period of significant challenge.

“The Team went above and beyond to support Loreburn customers – from ensuring their safety, right through to re-housing those affected. The award is richly deserved.

“Everyone at Loreburn is delighted over the win, and we are all proud to work alongside them.”
