The Tenant Scrutiny Group met last week to start their agreed project for this year: “How we invest in our homes”.
This project may influence and change how we invest in your homes in the future. At the meeting we looked at how we tender our works and how we evaluate and award the contracts. We also got a sneak preview of the proposed designs, cabinet doors and worktop choices that will be offered to tenants as part of the upcoming kitchen and bathroom replacements.
A really good discussion took place about tiling versus splashback in kitchens, and wet walls in bathrooms. And we also looked at samples of the handles we fit on kitchen doors and drawers.
The next steps will involve carrying out some surveys with tenants due to get kitchens and bathrooms this year to evaluate how we manage these projects.
We also started to look at how we provide ground maintenance in your communities, and agreed to carry out some further wider consultations. More news to come on this soon.
