Electrical safety

Follow our top tips to avoid dangers in your home... 

• Never carry out any repairs or alterations to the wiring in your home
• Never use electrical equipment in wet areas or touch plugs with wet hands 
• If something doesn't look quite right, stop using it and give us a call on 01387 321 300
• Remember to turn off electrical appliances when you're not using them
• Avoid overloading plug sockets
• Don't leave your washing machine or tumble dryer running overnight 
• Check lightbulbs and make sure their wattage isn't too high for the appliance
• Test your smoke alarm weekly in case an electrical fire breaks out

Never use water to put out an electrical fire!
