Our aim is to keep you safe, and we ask you to help us to do this by allowing access to your property on an annual basis to carry out a Gas Service Check.
As your landlord we have a legal responsibility to ensure that gas boilers, pipework, flues and other gas appliances owned by us are maintained in a safe condition. We adhere to The Gas Safety Installation & Use Regulations 1998. The law also applies to you in ensuring that you allow us access to your home to carry out the Gas Service Check.
Every year in the UK, over 200 people go to hospital with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, which leads to around 40 deaths. Allowing access to have your gas appliances checked allows us to keep you safe from carbon monoxide poisoning.
We aim to have all of the annual Gas Service Checks complete within 10 months to allow time for replacement parts or access issues.
We understand that many customers have other commitments, such as work, that may make it difficult to allow access, but we appreciate your co-operation in helping us to keep you and your family safe.
On completion of the Gas Service Check we will provide you with a copy of the certificate within 28 days.
