JM Barrie House

Opened in 1986 and overlooking the River Nith, JM Barrie house is only a 5 minute walk from Dumfries town centre and provides 28 self-contained, one bedroom flats and one respite flat.

Within the property there is a communal lounge with a television and fully fitted kitchen which allows residents to relax, socialise and enjoy meals together should they so wish. Coffee mornings and lunch clubs are held each week and prove ever popular. Laundry facilities, a lift, car parking, a secure scooter shed, and gardens to the front and rear are also available for common use.

To ensure the safety and security of our residents, CareCall units are located in each flat, a communal door entry system is in place , and CCTV monitors the communal areas. A Sheltered Housing Advisor is available 5 days over 7 on a shift pattern and is able to offer information and guidance on a range of matters.

Although there are a number of shops and supermarkets close by, the Food Train service is utilised by those residents who require their shopping to be delivered.

Guest rooms are also available if friends and family wish to visit.
