I have been with the Loreburn since 1993, initially employed as a Customer Care Officer within the Housing & Repairs Team. I later became a Housing Officer who was promoted to Team Leader (Repairs) then Team Leader (Income Services). I was appointed as Interim Housing Services Manager in June 2015 and was successfully appointed to Housing, Income & Community Engagement Manager (East) following the restructure in February 2016.
I have worked in housing for over 26 years, firstly with Cumnock & Doon Valley District Council as a YTS Homeless Housing Assistant. It was in this role that I found my passion for housing as I enjoy a customer focussed environment and assisting people and making a difference in their lives. I was fortunate enough to secure a permanent position in the department as a Clerical Officer for the Housing & Repairs Team which was a generic role.
In my current role as Housing, Income and Community Engagement Manager (East), I am responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of a range of services to customers. These services include allocation of properties, dealing with complaints and anti-social behaviour, income collection, community engagement, property factoring, health and safety, risk assessments, welfare reform, monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures.
In this role I want to continue to improve the quality of service that we provide to our customers through listening to them and improving the communities in which they live. I want to promote innovative partnership working with external agencies which will benefit Loreburn and its customers. I firmly believe that Loreburn is on its way to being one of the best landlords in Scotland.
