Sue Irving

Sue irving

I joined Loreburn Housing Association in June 2019 as Director of Housing Services and it is a real privilege to work for such a dynamic and customer focussed organisation.  Prior to Loreburn I was Chief Executive of Dumfries & Galloway Citizens Advice Service and other roles include working with people affected by homelessness and carrying out consultancy work in many different countries.  Throughout my career I have worked with people who found themselves in challenging personal circumstances and this has made me very determined to try to make a positive difference to people’s lives through my work.

I have lived in different parts of the UK but my heart belongs to Dumfries & Galloway, in particular Langholm, and I am excited that Loreburn is developing housing right from the east to the west of the region.

As well as my role at Loreburn HA I am also Chair of the Board of Homeless Action Scotland and a Director of Dumfries & Galloway Chamber of Commerce which reflect my commitment to our region and also my own values.  I am a member of Amnesty International and support Cancer Research UK in memory of my late Dad.

I achieved the degree of BA (hons) in English and Sociology at the University of Lancaster in 1986.  However I only visited Lancaster once, the day I graduated, as the campus I attended was in Liverpool so that I could follow my other great passion in life which is being a diehard supporter of Liverpool Football Club.  I also have a Masters in Business Administration from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

I am married to Mike and we have a son Dan who is a recent graduate from Napier University and we are of course very proud of him.  We also have three wee dogs that bring endless chaos and fun to our lives and we love to walk them in the hills and valleys of Dumfries and Galloway.

I am absolutely committed to ensuring that Loreburn HA customers have a great experience in the best homes we can provide and I want to work with our customers to understand your priorities, so if I can help you please get in touch.
