I worked within the Public Sector in a variety of financial and general management roles being on the Boards of these various organisations for twenty years. This provided me with a good understanding of governance, business and strategic planning along with a detailed understanding of financial and performance management.
Since retirement I have been active in the local community being part of the team that established the local Credit Union, running a number of local events and raising funds (Over £300k) for local initiatives. However my passion is environmental issues and I have chaired both of the two environmental organisations in Penrith whilst seeking to develop a detailed understanding of low energy and Passivhaus designs and alternative technologies.
I have been on the Board of three Housing Associations over the years and am particularly pleased to be associated with Loreburn and their vision for their tenants and the wider local community.
