Mike Jones
I have been a member of Loreburn Housing Association since 2010, initially being appointed as a Director, then Secretary, of Dumfries & Galloway Homes Ltd. I became a Loreburn Committee member in 2013.
I have some experience of the social landlord sector having worked in London in the 70s for the Valuation Office, The Fair Rent Office and Camden Housing Association. I joined HMRC in 1980 as an Inspector of Taxes working in Edinburgh and London, before arriving in Dumfries in 1987. I retired from HMRC in 2010.
Since 2010 I have also been involved with Dumfries & Galloway Council’s Summer Activity Scheme which provides activities for disabled children of school age. I currently work as a parttime minibus driver transporting children with special needs to school.
As a Committee member I want to ensure that Loreburn, and its subsidiary company, delivers real value for money to our tenants and engages with all stakeholders to ensure they receive a first class customer service. I am also proud to be able to serve the local community and to try and make a difference for Loreburn tenants.
