I was born in Paisley and lived the first 5 years of my life living in the Southside of Glasgow. I then moved with my family to Colvend, went to primary school there and then Kirkcudbright Academy. Following school I went to college in Edinburgh where I gained a Batchelor of Science degree in Building Engineering & Management in 1991 from Napier Polythechnic (now Napier University).
Since finishing college I have spent over 25 years working in the construction industry. My employment to date has included work on various civil and civilian construction projects including gas infrastructure, house building and the construction of industrial and agricultural buildings.
I have spent the last 17 years working in housing with 13 years at DGHP in various roles including Clerk of Works, Architectural Technician and 7 years in development during which time I was directly involved in the building over 300 affordable homes throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
I have been with Loreburn now for just over 4 years and I am excited about the progress the team and I have made in our ambitious plans to deliver over 300 new affordable homes in the next few years from Stranraer in the West to Langholm in the East.
Other than my very early years and my time at college, I have spent most of my life living in this fantastic region and I count myself as being lucky to work for an organisation such as Loreburn HA.
