I was born in Paisley and lived the first 5 years of my life living in the Southside of Glasgow. I them moved with my family to Colvend, went to primary school there and Kirkcudbright Academy then off to college in Edinburgh where I gained a Batchelor of Science degree in Building Engineering & Management from Napier Polythechnic (now Napier University) back in 1991.
Since then I have spent over 20 years working in the construction industry. My employment to date has included work on various civil and civilian construction projects including gas infrastructure projects, house building and the construction of industrial buildings.
I have spent the last 14.5 years working in housing with 13 years at DGHP in various roles including Clerk of Works, Architectural Technician and seven years in development during which time I was directly involved in the building over 300 affordable homes throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
I have been with Loreburn now for 18 months and I am excited about the progress the team and I have made in our ambitious plans to deliver over 300 new affordable homes in the next few years from Stranraer in the West to Langholm in the East.
Other than my time at college I have spent most of my life living in this fantastic region and I count myself as being lucky to work for an organisation such as Loreburn HA.
