Situated in a quiet area a short walk from Wigtown town centre, Kirklea Place consists of 13 self containes 1 bedroom bungalows each with an small individual front garden and Communal drying areas.

Care Call facilities are provided in all properties and the Sheltered Housing Officer, who conducts a morning call to each resident, is available between 9am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday.

Recognised as Scotland's Book Town, Wigtown has numerous shops, cafes, hotels and guest houses in addition to a local Co-op, Post Office, chemist, library and doctors surgery.

The small, friendly village also offers a Bowling Green, 9 hole golf course, Bladnoch Distillery, Nature Reserve, and great walks and groups for all interests .

A regular bus service (415 & 416) provides easy transport to surrounding villages and towns.

The Riverside Day Centre in the nearby town of Newton Stewart (6 miles) operates a community bus which collects people at Kirklea Place and in the town each day.
