As well as carrying out scheduled refurbishment programmes, we also carry out a number of Cyclical Improvement Programmes.
We aim to complete cyclical painting to the majority of our developments every 5 years. Developments which are particularly exposed may be painted more frequently. Cyclical painting includes external painting of doors, windows, soffits, fascias and elevations (where applicable), as well as internal painting of any communal areas.
Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
We also upgrade smoke and carbon monoxide detectors every 10 years. When systems are upgraded we are required to comply with current Building Regulations so if your property is due to be upgraded please be aware that it is likely that additional detectors will be installed, including a detector in your living room.
Whilst we do have planned programmes for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, it is crucial for your own safety that you test your detectors regularly (include link on how and when to test detectors) and that you report any failed detectors to us as soon as possible so that we can arrange for these to be replaced without delay.
We are also going to be carrying out electrical inspections every 5 years and carrying out any necessary improvement works to ensure that the electrics in your home remain safe.
