Student Accommodation

The University of Glasgow rent a number of properties from Loreburn Housing Association, through D&G Homes, to use as student accommodation for their Dumfries campus. Brooke House, Dumfries Hall and Laurieknowe Hall are managed in partnership with D&G Homes, Loreburn Housing Association, and University of Glasgow.

All processing of applications and allocations are handled by the University of Glasgow who retain the role as landlord to student residents and continue to be responsible for student welfare and the collection of rent.

Each residence offers the following facilities:

  • All residences offer modern self-catering undergraduate and postgraduate accommodation, arranged over two floors and comprise of spacious, single en-suite study bedrooms all with WiFi internet connectivity.
  • All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, lamp, two chairs, wardrobe, a drawer unit, shelves, noticeboard and en-suite shower room with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Students will need to provide their own towels, duvet, pillow and bedlinen.
  • Rental figure is £137.27 per week (in session 2016/17) which includes utilities, internet access, personal possessions insurance and access to on-site laundry facilities.
  • Each residence has well-equipped kitchens with: cookers; fridge-freezers; microwaves; kettles; dining table and chairs, individual cupboards, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.
  • Living room with sofa / chairs and digitally enabled television are available for communal use.
  • All residences are secured with a main door, to which only residents and staff have a key. Each individual room has a lockable door.
  • Each residence has a dedicated warden on hand for assistance and information.
  • Free parking area adjacent to residence & bike storage racks.
